After a morning of narrow lanes and pressing crowds, the ISKCON temple is a different experience entirely: a broad flight of marble steps, open arcaded halls, and space to simply sit. The presiding deities are Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohan, on a carved gold altar behind ornate doors.
When to come
Evening. The building is floodlit against the dusk, the aarti has a full kirtan behind it, and the temperature is finally bearable. Aarti is performed several times through the day — check the board at the entrance for the day's timings, as they shift with the season and the calendar.
Prasadam is available, and it is reliably good.
Who it suits
Families with small children, elderly parents who cannot manage a two-hour standing queue, and anyone who wants a quiet hour. It is the one stop on this list where nobody will hurry you.
