Ujjain is well connected by rail and road. The nearest airport is Indore (about 55 km). Ujjain Junction connects to most major cities by train, and frequent buses and taxis run from Indore, Bhopal and nearby towns.
The temple opens around 3:00 AM for the famous Bhasma Aarti and closes around 11:00 PM. The Bhasma Aarti (around 4:00 AM) needs advance booking. Timings change on festivals, so always confirm before visiting — we can help arrange your slot.
October to March is ideal, with pleasant ~20°C weather perfect for darshan and sightseeing. Mahashivratri, Nag Panchami and the 12-yearly Simhastha Kumbh Mela are especially auspicious for pilgrims.
