How many days do I need in Ujjain?
One full day covers Mahakaleshwar, Mahakal Lok, Kal Bhairav, Gadkalika and the Ram Ghat aarti. Two days lets you add Sandipani Ashram, the Vedh Shala observatory and the museums without rushing — that is what most pilgrims choose.
What is the best time of year to visit Ujjain?
October to March is the most comfortable. Shravan (July–August), Mahashivratri and Navratri are spiritually the most powerful times, but also the most crowded — book stays well ahead.
How do I reach Ujjain?
The nearest airport is Indore (about 55 km, 1 hour by road). Ujjain Junction is well connected by train to Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal and Ahmedabad. We arrange pickup from Indore airport or the station.
Do I need to book the Bhasma Aarti in advance?
Yes — passes are limited and released in advance through the temple management, with photo ID required. Offline permits are sometimes available a day or two ahead. We handle the booking for guests on our packages.
Is Ujjain suitable for elderly parents?
Yes, with planning. Mahakal Lok is flat and paved with benches and battery carts, and the temple has an assisted-darshan queue for senior citizens. Avoid the standing Bhasma Aarti queue and take seated arrangements instead. Ram Ghat has steps — we seat guests on the upper platform.
What should I wear?
Modest clothing for all temples. For the Bhasma Aarti specifically, traditional dress is required inside the sanctum — dhoti or kurta-pyjama for men, saree for women.
