Every Indian child knows the story of Krishna and Sudama — the prince and the poor friend who shared a bowl of rice at school. This is that school.
Sandipani Ashram was the gurukul of Guru Sandipani, where Krishna, his brother Balarama and his friend Sudama studied. It is small, green and serene, and it takes under an hour.
Gomti Kund
The sacred tank at the ashram is said to have been created by Krishna, who summoned water from every holy river so his guru would not have to travel to them. Beside it stands an idol of Krishna and a stone said to record his lessons.
